Cheers to a well designed travel bag! My only concern is that with a laptop attached to the bag. It has a tendency to topple over. It doesn't let the cabin bag to stand on it's own. I had a fellow traveler have his leg hiked in the air catching my bag. This was while we were going through TSA. If the cleats on the lower part of the bag could be elongated this may eliminate that issue. Otherwise solid purchase.

This is a mighty fine travel garment bag. I usually need to travel with 2-3 full suits and all accompanying clothes (shirts, shoes, socks, ties, etc.), and I can put everything in here to create a full but fully-functional bag. Amazing. Wrinkles are minimal (I like the shirt carrier, worth the extra $), and the detachable computer bag means I have just one piece of luggage to travel with. How ridiculous is that? The bag is also stylish (for a black bag), and I love the yellow accents. I just can't get over how functional this bag is. Well done!

Great 3 night bag, fits in tin cans!
I've had this bag for a few weeks now and have used it for a couple of business trips so this is an initial impression. I am an IT consultant that travels by plane for work almost every week on a Monday-Thursday schedule. For this schedule I think this bag is near perfect. I can place three dress shirts, one pair slacks, and one casual shirt on hangers in the main compartment. Then fit four pairs of underwear, undershirts, and socks in the zippered pouch at the bottom. Ties and other accessories fit well in the zippered pockets in the top by the hangers. This then does a quick fold down and I can add my laptop, charger, and a magazine to the outside pocket. This also means I can pack for the week in about five minutes. With all of the above I have confirmed that this fits without issue in the tiny overhead bin on a CRJ-200, CRJ-900, and even the tiny ERJ-145 that doesn't usually fit anything larger than a backpack. That is impressive and the true reason for this bag. I'm able to avoid gate checking my bag which often saves me ten minutes each way and can make the difference in making a tight connection or catching the train into work. Overall fit and finish on the bag also seems to be great. There are pockets and zippered compartments everywhere so you can keep everything very organized in this bag. The ballistic nylon and zippers used seems like they will hold up well. The wheels roll VERY well (much better than my Tumi), I'm not sure if this is due to the wider wheelbase, taller wheels, or high quality bearings but they work. The handle also goes up and down very easily and is plenty long for me at 6'1" tall. Limitations - it is possible to over stuff this bag (I've found this to be especially true if I try and add spare shoes). If you over stuff it you may find it hard to zip shut and it may no longer fit in the tiniest of overhead bins. Also, it really is a 4 night maximum bag as it just won't hold enough for longer. But if you need a bag for 1-3 night business trips it is very hard to beat. I also bought the micro-shirt bag but haven't tried it out yet.

I have use the Trifold bag on several back-to-back 4 day business trips. Although I check a bag, we are required to wear or carry on a full suit/pumps and all items needed for the meetings. My laptop is a sturdy (heavy) 13" model that I was not eager to carry in a Tote with my suit and pumps. This bag system met my needs perfectly! My suit is not even wrinkled, my pumps are protected in the shoe pocket, the small corner pouches and the clear bag carry all my other incidentals. The garment bag fits in the overhead bin of even a tiny regional jet so no need to gate check! The laptop bag works well as a briefcase, although the logo on the shoulder pad is extremely bright and large so I just flip it over. It is difficult to align the zipper when the bags are full, so if I am in a hurry I just slip the bag handles over the roller bar. It is great to just roll along ant not carry a heavy bag through the airport!

I recently used this bag for a 4 day trip to Las Vegas. Overall I am happy with my purchase since the bag was able to hold 3 suits in the main trifold area easily with their shirts along with a few other items. The detachable laptop bag was also easily able to hold my 17 inch laptop I use for work along with a powercord, mouse and mousepad. The bag has so many compartments to it that I also felt like some kind of super secret spy where I could stow all kinds of goodies!! But my one complaint with it is that while I was able to get it into the overhead space on a Boeing 737 easily, one of the handles got a small (about a quarter inch) cut in it somehow and since then about half of the coating on the handle for the main trifold bag has been rubbing off in chunks.

I purchased this bag a couple months ago and have been traveling weekly across the United States since then. The bag design and layout are extremely well thought out and I could not be happier with my Gate8 purchase. The garment bag is perfect for 1-3 day trips and is a welcome replacement for your typical carry on rollerboard, being much lighter and smaller yet holding all the essentials for work travel. I highly recommend this carry on wheeled (the wheels are phenomenal) garment bag

This is a great bag and perfect for a 4 or 5 day trip, one suit, several pairs of dress slacks, (wear a sport jacket), five shirts with the Micro shirt bag. The price is just right when compared to other bags of it type. And it fits in the overhead easily. over the pass year I have tried several bags which are now sitting in the basement gathering dust.

Mr.
It’s a fantastic bag. As many have said, it needs a longer handle. I kick it when I roll it. Also, its a small point, but this would be awesome. Since its so light and airplane isles are so crowded when disembarking, if it had a small handle on one side, one could just grab it from the overhead. That would be fantastic. The way its now configured needs two hands or pulling the small locking clip on the side. Shoes are an issue, (but I have coupled it with a travelpro magna, and all works well.) BUT an attachable shoe bag accessory would be a great addition. It could hang or zipper somewhere. The bag has plenty of room in the overhead, so space would not be an issue. I would buy that in a second, especially since I don’t use the briefcase part. In fact, you could sell something that fits in the existing zippers for briefcase for extra shoes. Those are my thoughts. But its really an amazing product

Great Price, Great Size
I can't say I've used this to travel yet, so this is a bit preliminary, but based on my experience with other luggage I've used in traveling, I think I have a pretty good impression of how this will perform. I bought this for short trips where I'd likely need a suit (interviews, weddings, certain family events). My roller bag could do it and usually fit in the overhead bins, but often times, my 21" roller was overkill for the length of time I'd be away and on smaller regional jets, it wouldn't fit in the overhead (exception being E-170/E-175 regional jets). This bag will easily fill the roll for a 2-4 day trip with a suit and fits within domestic carry-on specs (in case you get a stickler of a gate agent). The construction is good and the pockets and internals of the bag are nicely laid out. The zippers are smooth and the handle is pretty sturdy. The only exception is the chain that could be used to hang the bag. The chain and holder seem a little flimsy in the pocket they are sitting in, but I haven't really tested this part out. I also don't much care for the laptop pocket, as I'd usually travel with a secondary personal bag for my laptop and a book, but I'm looking at using the laptop portion as a secondary clothing location (though, I could see the benefits of using it for its designated purpose if necessary). I also liked the inclusion of a small, clear bag for toiletries. But overall, for the price and against the competition, my impression is that this is a great garment bag, especially if you're looking for something carry-on sized.

Mr
I will highly recommend this bag to all my colleagues. Well constructed, rolls great over all surfaces and the fit in regional jet overheads is perfect. Detachable laptop bag is a godsend for ease of access on the plane and portability while getting to/from the terminal. Well done.

Great for the price
After traveling a few times for interviews and paying $25 per leg, I decided to get myself a carry on in which I could pack a full suit, plus a few extras, and save a few bucks. I researched a few of the options online and decided to take a chance on this one by Gate8. I was not disappointed! I have traveled to Costa Rica and back with it and then to Washington, DC and back and my only complaint would be that the handle is very wobbly. I would never use it to leverage weight or change direction abruptly or even to lift it at a curb since I worry it might break. I am not sure if mine is a fluke or it's just how it is. Nonetheless, I am very happy with it after taking two 5-hr plus trips. I can pack more than I originally thought was possible.

I could not be more pleased with this bag. To start with, the service and responsiveness to my inquiries was phenomenal. I have taken 3 trips with the bag in the first 2 weeks after ordering it, and it is hands down the best piece of luggage I own. It is roomy, durable, well-built and easy to carry. I have already had a number of people ask me about it while traveling. I look forward to using other Gate-8 products in the future, and have no doubt I will get years of good use out of my trifold cabin bag. If you are thinking about ordering one, by advice is to absolutely go for it. You will not be disappointed.

This bag is the best designed cabin bag I have ever seen. The quality is superb and easily holds sufficient clothing and travel items for a business trip of 2-3 days which is generally the length of my business trips. I am a large person and the bag is large enough to minimze any wrinkling of my business suits. The detachable laptop bag is very useful. At times I may carry my laptop in another small bag, I can still use the detachable bag for other travel items. I highly recommend this bag for the business traveler or any other travel involving short durations of 2-3 days.

I'm a big fan. I can't believe how little room this takes up in the overhead - I can slide it in, and someone else can fit a small bag in front of it. The laptop bag holds everything I need, and I'm impressed with how nice my suit and shirts come out. My only issue is that since the bag is wide, it sometimes clips my heel as I walk with it behind me, since I'm 6'2". I highly recommend this.
